Eye Test
Get an eye test at any approved optical centre (QAR 50–100).

Gather Documents
Original driving licence + translation (if not in Arabic/English), QID copy, passport copy, 2 passport photos, NOC from sponsor.

Visit Traffic Department
Go to General Directorate of Traffic, Al Sadd or your nearest traffic department.

Submit Application
Fill out the application form, pay the fee (QAR 200 for 5-year licence).

Collect Licence
Direct conversion: same-day or next day. Test required: after passing theory + practical test.
Important Notes
  • You must have a valid QID (residency permit) to apply for a Qatar driving licence.
  • Visitors can use an International Driving Permit (IDP) for up to 6 months.
  • GCC citizens can drive with their national licence without conversion.
  • Licence fee: QAR 200 (5-year validity).
